After a super busy and sometimes frustrating week I am super pumped to post the first before and after from the new place!!   I anticipate another "after" of the kitchen a little on down the road when John tiles but for now, here it is!

Ahh!!!  You would have to live with the headache inducing faux painting and wallpaper in this house to truly appreciate the soothing green that is now my kitchen.  I think I'll just live in here for now.

off we go.

So today is the big day.   Moving day.  I am having a little bit of a hard time breathing.  I think it's partly stress and partly emotion over leaving the house.

I just keep reminding myself that we are almost done and the new place is going to be awesome (well eventually it will be, after painting and some minor renovations)!  Oh, and for mother's day we ordered a new stove!  My current stove is 15 years old and I have to rotate my food halfway through the cooking and set the temperature for 25 degrees less than the instructions.  Also it is not self cleaning and has the coils which are SO hard to clean when you spill everything.  So yeah... I'm super excited about the new stove.

Ta da!

Moving is pretty much the only excuse for your house to be a completely unlivable disaster so... I took pictures!  Here is our big mess!

Packing Progress.

Haven't heard from me much this week.  We ALL got sick this week.  First John, then me, and today Carson.  Thanks to a Z-Pak I am feeling much better today.  John still has some sinus pressure and Carson is being a real trooper despite his fever.  Praying that this is all done soon since moving day is less than a week away!

Speaking of moving... I've been making some progress on the packing.

Last Friday.

We also had our first moving casualty this week... my toe.  (Please be sympathetic to me and say you see how bruised it is!  I get no sympathy from my husband.)

Most of you know this already but we closed on our house on Friday.  The closing wasn't supposed to happen until the 14th but our buyer needed to close early to get the interest rate she needed.

We are so relieved that the closing is done and the cash is in the bank.  Don't have to worry about something going wrong anymore!  Plus the buyer is letting us stay in the house for 2 weeks (rent free!) until the closing on our new home.  It was really a blessing how all of this worked out.

I'm still plugging away at the packing.  My lack of boxes is slowing me down.  Anybody know where I can get boxes?

We are getting SO excited about moving in to the new house.  The yard and back deck are going to be lots of fun in the summer months.  I realized I haven't shared a picture of the new place yet.  Isn't it the cutest?
