Ginger Teriyaki Sliders (Burgers)

Oh.  My.  Gosh.  I just can not even say how much I LOVE these burgers.  They are outrageously delicious and easy.  The perfect combination.  I feel like I should give credit to wherever I get these recipes from so this one is from Family Circle.  The only change I am going to make is next time instead of broiling these on a cookie sheet I'm going to try to broil them on that pan with the slots (you know, the one that comes with your stove).  This may help with the grease.  Of course you could certainly grill them but 5 minutes of broiling is so super easy that I didn't mind using half a roll of paper towels (slight exaggeration) to sop up some of the grease.

(not my picture)

1 package (of 12) mini Hawaiian sweet rolls
2 scallions, trimmed and finely chopped (more scallions for garnish optional)
1/2 tsp ginger
1 pound lean ground sirloin
1/4 cup plus 1 tsp teriyaki stir-fry sauce
1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
1/4 cup light mayo
1/4 tsp sugar

Heat broiler.  Line baking pan with foil; coat foil with nonstick cooking spray.

Combine sirloin, chopped scallions, ginger, stir-fry sauce, and bread crumbs.  Mix well.  Shape mixture into 12 patties.  Place patties on baking pan; broil 4 inches from heat for 4-6 minutes, turning once.

While burgers cook stir together mayo, 1 tsp teriyaki sauce, and sugar.

Split rolls and top each with a burger.  Spread with sauce and garnish with scallions.
