1 week update.

So we've been in for 9 days now.  It is really starting to feel like home now.   Here's some pictures after what we got done this past week and weekend!

One of my new crafty projects was the window box things.  My dad helped me make them and John helped me hang them up.  Thanks to the men in my life for all the decorating help!

Yay, I just unpacked the LAST kitchen box and everything fit!  How in the world did we acquire so much kitchen stuff?!

John helped me hang all the mirrors last night.  It is so nice not to have to bend over to look in the mirror!

We found the bracket to our bed, yay!

The first thing we finished, the guest  bath for all the guests we will have in the next couple of weeks.

Guest room/Mike's room.  Someday I will hang up all these pictures!

And the 4th bedroom that hasn't been painted and is just acquiring all our unpacked boxes.

More House.

Progress report...

You may notice that our mattress is on the floor.  In the process of the move a bracket was lost.  Luckily, the store is going to send us a replacement for free!  We just have to wait 3 - 4 weeks.  But at least we are back in our king bed after being squashed (ha) into the queen for 3 months.

Our bath was the last room to be painted, just finished this morning.  Our toilet still doesn't work so we don't use it much.

I just had to show this picture of the fabulous mirror I found for $25!  Hopefully someday we can hang it - ha ha.

I keep forgetting to post a picture of the deck.  So here it is.

Ham Glaze

I have had a couple of requests for this so...

8 oz can unsweetened crushed pineapple drained
1/2 cup apricot jam
1 tbsp spicy brown mustard
2 tsp horseradish sauce
The recipe said to cook the ham and then combine all the above and spread over ham - then cook for another hour. But we were short on time and just put the glaze on after the ham was cooked. Then we let it sit for like an hour and it was delicious! This was for an 8-10 lb ham

Well tonight I am writing from the couch in our new home, yay! We are exhausted but really loving the space. Here are just a few pictures our hard work.

Our first breakfast... this morning I made cinnamon rolls and underestimated how powerful our "new" oven is. Yikes, I burned the bottoms! So I cut off the bottoms and we had cinnamon roll tops.

Working. John and Mike did such a great job on the floors.

The view from the kitchen window, my favorite part!

Before & After... so far

This is another house post, no Carson :( But this house is our life this week. We are working non stop to be able to move in this weekend (hopefully!). So here's an update for all of you who are waiting on the edge of your seat to see what we've done so far (ha ha). I figured I would do some before and afters because they make me feel like we've gotten a lot done. Today I spent the WHOLE day (9 - 6) painting trim, uck.

Downstairs bath

Guest room

Laundry (this was SO gross before - yay for paint and cleaning!)

Carson's room (tomorrow's project: the red doors!)

Our room (sorry, no before and kind of dark)

Upstairs guest bath (another project for tomorrow = our bathroom)

Kitchen & Great Room. Mike and John are about halfway through installing laminate wood floors. We've always done tile and carpet before so this is a new experience but it's looking good so far.

And... a little bit of Carson
